Betty travels to Haiti twice a year to hold a special event for the orphans and needy in the Croix-des-bouquets region; one week of a summer camp and an annual Christmas party. When she is not traveling, Betty is serving in her local community as a mentor to youths and women.

In loving memory of our sister and co-founder, Gladys Bruno, who passed away in September 2013
; Betty A. Ministries was co-founded by Betty Almonacy and Gladys Bruno. Gladys, a thirty-five years (plus) nursing veteran, spent her life caring for and taking care of others. She worked in various hospital departments throughout her career, but she preferred neonatal and labor delivery. After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Gladys encouraged her sister, Betty, to add a benevolent branch within her ministry so they could financially sponsor children in Haiti. What started with 10 children, now caters to the needs of approximately 600 children. To honor her memory, we continue to serve with the same joy, enthusiasm, and love that Gladys poured into the ministry.
